presentar su disco "Shine for all the people" (2015) y ganó un Grammy
Shine for all the people (2015)
Presentará
un show eléctrico bautizado como "An evening with Mike Farris and The

THE INTERVIEW
The Mike Farris's songs sound like an elegant R&B, sophisticated
Soul and Gospel, and also we can found a
bit of Blues and Folk. A mix of styles that results on the personal sound of
your music. But, what are really your musical influences?
Many different things grab my attention. I’m
fascinated by ALL music, or should I say, all GOOD music :) Lately I have been
listening to everything from african music, cubano, William Bell, and AC/DC so
it’s all over the place.
Last year marked 25 years since you begin in 1990. What is the
difference between the music of Mike Farris today and your music 25 years ago?
I kind of know what I am doing now. I had no idea how
to properly sing then. When we started, I had just discovered that I had
musical potential, so I was very unskilled, but I had other things to
compensate- a strong will, determination and the belief that anything is
possible, not just for me, but for all of us.
Wow! Grammy Award for Best Roots Gospel Album for “Shine For All the
People”. Happy for that? What's your inspiration when making your songs?
I simply want to bring people joy.
Are you completed your expectations with Shine For All The People? When
a new album?
We are currently working on the new album now and in
the process of raising money to fund the album. Anyone can go to
pledgemusic.com and contribute!
What do we will see and enjoy in your live concerts?
My goal when we play live is to have everyone leave
the show feeling better about themselves and life than when they first arrived.
That’s it.
This is not your first time in Spain. What do you think about the
Spanish crowd? What do expect from them?
The best music fans in the world, so I expect them to
do what spaniards do- ROCK!
What are your plans for this current year 2016 and next 2017? We assume
that you will touring around clubs and festivals. Can you advance anything to
us? Any important event? When new songs?
Yes, more playing live and soon we will be back in
Nashville recording the new album.
Do you think the digital world will end with music as we know it today?
What do you think is the future of music?
I fear for music in a lot of ways, because I hear my
son, who is in music, and the young kids coming up expressing how bad they feel
it is and even to the point to where college music professors telling kids that
they can not make a living in music anymore. On the other hand, I know that the
good music will always rise to the top and it will always find its place. And
of course, as with anything, when we are good servants to people, we are always
cared for.
What is your best memory about music?
The GRAMMY was a big one!
How is a normal day in the life of Mike Farris?
Very uneventful. Just like anyone else’s day- Wake up,
trousers on, walk out the door, check to make sure my fly is zipped, get in
car, drive, get out of car, check zipper again, go to car, drive back home,
look for my wallet, get back in car, more driving, repeat….
What do you think about the current economic and social situation in
Spain, Europe and in the World in general?
REVOLUTION. I am a political atheist. All politicians
have tricked the people into thinking that their respective party is the best,
but they are all corrupt. Even the people who understand this still insist that
their party is best, while despising anyone who stands with the other party.
Ignorance. We are all being led over the cliff…
